I expect God to work in wonderful ways through this trip! Personally, I think it will be a time of great reflection about my life and how I can use my gifts and talents to serve people who are less fortunate. It is so easy to get caught up in the “drama” of your own life sometimes that you forget about the people who suffer so much more and I think that this will undoubtedly open my eyes to all that I have been given. I expect to make some amazing friendships and meet a variety of people who share my passion for serving others and I look so forward to working with new people. Culturally, I know it will be a HUGE shock to be so far away from friends and family and out of my comfort zone, but I know it will be a great experince to be immersed in a culture that is so far removed from ours here in the U.S. The thought of being cut off from most forms of communication is a little frightening, but still exciting and refreshing at the same time! I can’t wait to interact with the people of Kenya and offer my services to them.  I don’t expect to be the same after this trip. I expect to be filled with love, compassion, and all the gifts of the Holy Spirit! I know it will make me want more once I return home and I hope that everyone will see the change in my heart so that I can be an encouragment to everyone I know to serve others even in the smallest ways possible!
