A New Love
This past week we spent time in Musul with the Massai people. We did various things such as kill two goats for dinner (well Jon and Isaiah did), climbed rock-like mountains to watch the sun rise, ate fruit from a cactus, watch kids chase a donkey out of their classroom, be charged by an angry Daddy elephant, ride on the back of a motorcycle, poo in a hole (or not, Stephanie), buy shoes made out of tires, party in tribal gear while celebrating our dear friend, Alyssa’s Birthday, and of course, ride a camel (or fall off of one, Stephanie). =) Needless to say, this has been my most favorite week here in Kenya so far. I am happy to say this because before we left I really wasn’t looking forward to going. It was weird for me to not be excited about living in a tribe for a week since I have wanted to be a missionary in a tribe since I was 15. I prayed about it before I left, I prayed that God would give me a peace. I didn’t ask for any answers specifically, but just to know that God is in control and for me to be okay with that. Well it was not long into our stay at Musul when God spoke to me through Pastor Samuel. Pastor Samuel is the head pastor at the AIC church in Musul. Just seeing him being a soldier in the army of God this week gave me a fire and compassion that would be difficult to lose. He is such a sincere person with a heart that is full of Christ’s love and compassion. You could see it in his eyes, you could hear it in his voice, you could see it in the way he lead almost an entire classroom to Christ. It was such an inspiration to me. After seeing him at work for God’s Kingdom, I don’t know what exactly God has planned for me, but I’m okay with that, and that is because I know it will be something to further God’s Kingdom and to please Him. I know that I am not the same since meeting Pastor Samuel and I thank God for that. I long for the same passion and love that this man shed on the people of Musul. I now have a new love for God, and that is a love that desires to serve…to serve Him, and to serve His people. I am in love and I’m not going back.
Kwahari (goodbye) for now!
Trusting In Him,
Sarah Denning =)

Sarah, Such a beautiful way to discribe His love for you and your love for Him. I am so glad you were able to live within the Massai tribe and to hear Pastor Samuel. I am also glad that the angry elephant did not stomp on you.
Love in Him, Aunt Maureen
